Oct 30th, 2004: A new photo of Gordon Murray has been added, plus another Pippin annual. The Rubovian Music page has been made more universal through the use of an external media player. Sept 24th, 2004: Rubovian Legends puppeteer and well known stop-motion animator John Hardwick passed away today while out cycling. He is survived by his long-term girlfriend Hazel Pearson and their daughter Fiona. (Telegraph, Oct 6, 2004). Our sincere sympathy goes to his family and friends. June 18th, 2004: A new photo of Audrey Atterbury has been added in the bio pages. Also, and at long last, a photo of Molly Gibson. June 13th, 2004: We are delighted to announce the addition of the theme music for the original Rubovian Legends marionette series. Also, a surprise audio clip has been added to the background sounds on this page. April 10th, 2004: We are very pleased to announce the addition of a biography for puppeteer Audrey Atterbury. Mar 7th, 2004: A privacy policy has been established for the website and the petition to the BBC (follow the link just above the Notice Board heading on this page). Feb 29th, 2004: For all of you Rubovia enthusiasts out there, we've added a merchandise section! Dec 28th, 2003: An interesting photograph showing the relative scale of several of the marionette puppets to Andrew and Margaret Brownfoot has been posted in the People section of the website. Nov 29th, 2003: A major update of the site has begun. Of special note are several costume illustrations and a painting of Rubovia Castle, all by Andrew Brownfoot.Sept 24th, 2003: See below on this page for a new section that tracks the latest changes & updates to the website. Aug 25th, 2003: Gordon Murray has kindly given his blessings for this website to be called the Official Rubovian Legends website. He is delighted that Rubovia still lives on in many people's memories, and he wishes us good luck with the campaign to get 'Rubovia' released on DVD so that it can be enjoyed all over again. Gordon confirmed what we had suspected, that the last "Rubovian Legends" episode, The Giddy Ghost, still held by the BBC, has never been transmitted in the UK. Aug 17th, 2003: A new section about the people behind Rubovia has been added. So far it covers Gordon Murray, Andrew and Margaret Brownfoot, Derek Nimmo, Roy Skelton, John Hardwick and Bob Bura. The episode guide has been livened up with the addition of some interesting still pictures. One interesting fact that has emerged is that there were three episodes of "Rubovian Legends" using Kim Allen's puppets. Since two of these were remade using Gordon Murray's own puppets, the total number of Rubovia episodes now stands at 35 (comprising 29 marionette and 6 stop-motion plays). Also, we are now covering Gordon Murray's non-Rubovia puppet plays in the last section of the episode guide. July 28th, 2003: The Chronology section has been extensively updated. We have also made a start on the Puppets section. More material will be uploaded as time permits. June 28th, 2003: We have made a start on the FAQ section. The episode guide has been updated to reflect some new information about the three earliest "Rubovian Legends" episodes. Due to some up-coming travel plans, the next big wave of updates on the website won't be ready for uploading until late July. June 22nd, 2003: Welcome to the initial version of the Realm of Rubovia website. In order to launch by the promised date, we've had to leave lot of material out of the initial release. This will all make its way onto the site in due course, but during the build-up phase, don't be surprised if you trip over the odd "under construction" sign. Fortunately, due to the great amount of help we have received, and particularly from members of the Mausoleum Club (see links page), none of the construction zones have very deep or dangerous holes. But be careful nonetheless, and please report any apparent omissions or faux pas. With a task of this magnitude, and due to the relative scarcity of anything to do with Rubovia in the historical strata, there are bound to be some inaccuracies. Please make sure to read our wish list, below. We look forward to hearing from you. -Al & Jan Roxburgh, expatriate Kiwis living in USA |
