The Grafton's Alcove in Finnegan's Wake

The small photograph:
Harry Secombe, Michael Bentine, Peter Sellers, and Spike Milligan make a toast in Grafton's pub, 1951. The Goons The Story, page 12, and Roger Wilmut & Jimmy Grafton's The Goon Show Companion, plate 6, have a different photograph of this same scene (taken from slightly to the right, probably a few seconds earlier or later).

The large photograph:
Standing behind the Goons from left: announcer Andrew Timothy, Lord Snowdon, Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, and the Duke of Edinburgh. This photograph was first published in the Daily Express, Monday May 1, 1972, ? Press Association. This photograph and the companion Daily Express article can be found in The Goon Show Scripts, page 10. The photograph can also be found in Alfred Draper's The Story of the Goons, plate 9, and in The Goons The Story, page 180.

The middle-sized photograph:
A smaller version of this photograph formerly appeared as part of a collage in Grafton's. It had the following caption: If you ask Dick Emery, Michael Bentine and Harry Secombe to 'raise their glasses', you can expect them to get it all wrong...
